Viral Infection (rash) from Tropical Bug Bite

Post a new topicby stamp out loud on Sat Sep 01, 2007 8:54 pm

While vacationing in Phuket Thailand over 4 years ago I was bitten on the top of my foot. this resulted in very raw red circular rashes erupting all over my torso, arms and legs. The itch, which fierce, comes in waves. As this happened some time ago, it lies dormant, then erupts each time worse than before. I have been to many tropical disease clinics and seen by countless Dr.'s who have prescribed everything from antihistimenes, antibiotics to steriods, balms, salves and creams...all useless. I have now begun to explore possibilites in the homeopathic, naturopathic and eastern medicines. All medical professionals concurr that this is a virus that has attacked my system and I am at my wits end trying to find some relief from this unbearable itch and the suffering I am currently experiencing. My body is covered in lesions and I am desperate to find a cure. I am now on a diet that is working to cleanse my system and am ingesting flax oil, oil of oregano and a few other natural concoctions to see if this will begin to make a diffence and give me some relief.
I anyone has heard of such a thing as this virus, or can offer some insight or suggestions I would be very interested in your reply.
Thanks so very much.
In agony.

Do you think it could be Molluscum Contagiosum?

Short Story
march 2009 Scalp began to itch like crazy

May 2009 Rash appears on trunk-itchy
Fam Doc presribes 9 mg of predisone and a topical steroid cream
July 2009 Now on arms and shoulders too
Ob Gyn tests for Lymes and Rocky Mt
offers valium for itching tests come back neg xanax for stress.....
Aug -moves to back and all around waist-often bleeds
Allergist tests for audio immune and blood work for lupus ect....negative
takes me off hormone supplement and offers aderan and anti-depressants
rashes continue to get worse
dermatologist says she sees this in "middle aged women" that it could have come from a thorn prick or a bug bite puts me on 40 mg of predisone for 3 weeks RASH DOES NOT SPREAD AND ORIGINAL ONE dries up,.
6 days after completing predisone- IT all comes roaring back
now on topical steroid -wants to run allergy tests in 3 weeks...
went to holistic chiroprator yesterday
esplained about virus in my system
put me on $100 dollars worth of Guna virus and guna herpes
DOES ANYONE HAVE INSIGHT OR SOMETHING THAT #1 identifies specifically what this is?
#2 a treatment that worked for them??
