recurrent rash past two years I've been troubled by a recurring rash. It begins on my stomach spreads from re to my hips, armp, arms (although bumps sparce everywhere except my stomach.) rash begins small red bumps develop into raised red blotches about 1/8 to 1/4 inch in diameter. y not itchy, tender to touch usually accompanied by a low fever. After about a week, most of bumps develop a small puss-filled head, while ors just fade away. I've been told by 2 doctors it's probably Pityriasis Rosea, my understing is PR usually doesn't re-occur. I've had same rash 5 times in last 2 years-- most recent episodes in 2 months of each or. Each doctor's visit has been short--y give me a suggestion of it is send me home an antibiotic cream, does nothing rash. Any suggestions on it might be wher I should be concerned. I hope to get pregnant in next 6 months, I'm fearful rash might be a manifestation of something more serious. Thanks!
Re: recurrent rashFirst off, this does not sound like something serious. I agree that it also does not sound like pityriasis rosea. I recommend a more aggressive workup. I recommend a biopsy of a lesion. It could be viral, although the recurring nature does not fit so well. It is possible bacterial folliculitis, in which case oral antibiotics should be used.
