PITYRIASIS ROSEAHi, I have been diagnosed PR by a Dermatologist I have had it 6 weeks now.I told it is not contagious. My husb got a herald patch on his back about a week a half ago now has bumps on his stomach back a little on his arms as I have.
I did do a lot of searching on web to see if it is contagious only found one site said re is a slight chance of catching .
I would like to know if have ever heard of or family members having at same time?
Thank ,MARIA
Re: PITYRIASIS ROSEAInteresting. I do believe PR is contageous, but most people do not get it from family members. I know of some who have, though. My theory is that most people have already been exposed to the virus that most likely causes PR. That is why most people do not get it. In your case neither you nor your husband had been exposed to it. It is generally believed that PR is caused from some virus or infection. Some investigators have been close at pinpointing the exact one, but we still do not have any definitive data.
