Developed skin rash which rapidly spread to one side of my abdomen and itched terribly. I knew that I needed to get to a doc within 72 hours for some Valtrex in case it was shingles. Of course this was a weekend. The ER doc took one look and said “shingles”. They loaded me up with painkillers, Valtrex and some anti-itch pill which made me incredibly drowsy for about three days. I started about two weeks ago with pain in lower abdomen and then about a week later started with extreme burning of skin like fire and now I have been itching off and on and have developed a small rash and a few small spots that have since healed up. Everyone tells me it sounds like shingles, I know that somedays are worse than others and the burning is awful. I feel like I am losing my mind. Has anyone else experienced these signs with shingles.
