Chest, sternum, rib and back pain. last pulmonologist didn't

Post a new topicby jeggerd on Sun Aug 23, 2009 4:32 pm

Hello all i apologize if this post is long, but i have an odd condition that i was trying to have diagnosed by a pulmonologist before but he pretty much ruled out a lot of things through MRI's and x-rays and my conditions have gotten worse since then.

Basically what symptoms i have are that i will have pain in my chest on either side or in my ribs on either side like they are breaking and my whole chest is going to collapse. Sometimes i will have a pain that feels like i'm being knifed through my chest with a pole from the front of the right side of my chest/lung area all the way through my back. And my sternum will have a lot of pain in it as well. And there are times when i will breath and it will hurt to do so really bad either in or out, like my chest is caving in. These pains come and go as they please i can be sitting one day relaxing and it happens or i can be active the next day and it happens, so it doesn't matter what i'm doing it just decides to come on and its not always everyday. Sometimes i'll be good for 2 days in-between sometimes its everyday for a week or two. And now recently in the past week or so its gotten worse to where no matter how i sit or lay I will have the pain like my chest is going to collapse so i haven't been able to sleep good because it feels that way if i'm on my back, stomach or side, and even if i lay on my two temper pedic pillows it still hurts the same my chest and ribs just feels like they're going to cave in.

If anyone may have some sort of inclination as to what it'd be i'd love to hear it, costochondritis was ruled out because it doesn't make my pain worse to tough where it hurts, in fact i feel like i need to put pressure and squeeze myself in order to keep it all in. It's been like this for 3 years now. I'm 23 non-smoker, RARELY drink like maybe once every 6 months and never get drunk, physically fit all that good stuff. Also if anyone know of a good health insurance company that would help me out in getting looked at i'm open to suggestions, everywhere i tried won't take me because i have a pre-existing condition and it's worse since i don't know what that condition is.

Thanks for taking time to read this and if you can get back to me that'd be great, you can reply to me here or at my email [moderator note: e-mail address has been removed] no spaces
Have a Good one.
