Only a cluster of freckles...

Post a new topicby Guest on Mon Nov 05, 2001 4:15 pm

I have been told by many people that I need to have my arm and shoulder checked out. Since the age of 10, I have had a small cluster (about 20) of dark freckles. They are right below my sleeve line. I also have a "scattered cluster" of freckles on the opposite shoulder. I am not covered in freckles, just in a few spots. I used to play softball every year and I lived in the sun while practicing every day. Mostly, I practiced in short sleeves or my bathing suit. They dont bother me, but I am growing worried now that one of the freckles is a bump. I am young, but concerned that I might have a problem with cancer later on in my life. My mother died with cancer, and my father currently has skin and lung cancer Should I get the freckles checked out?

If you haven't already, get it checked out. It's better to be safe than sorry. I just got diagnosed with malignant melanoma, no family history and I've always had lots of freckles on my back (some raised). It just started changing and got very itchy, which was a major red flag. Good Luck!
