Acne Nodules....My 6 month old son has had infant acne from birth, and only recently has it started to wane. Our pediatrician prescribed a steroid cream for the acne, and we used it as prescribed for about a month. It did lessen the acne, but did not clear it up. Since then, we have noticed two small red areas, under the surface, that do not seem to be clearing up. The texture of the surface over the red areas is different from his normal skin texture. Our ped told us to see a dermatologist who specializes in babies as soon as we can, fearing scarring. We have an appointment, but it is 6 weeks out, and as a terrified parent, i want to know how concerned I need to be. The ped said he had never seen "acne nodules" on a baby before, but that was his first guess. The treatment sounded worse than the ailment, but I don't want him to have to live with scars on his cheek. Can you give some guidance, or even better, some encouragement?
