I was just diagnosed with spitz nevi. My dermatologist seemed unsure about the diagnosis from the pathologist. He did tell me he got it all "just in case". I am wondering since spitz nevi is normally found in children and is red/pink in shape mine was not and had all the signs of melanoma. Could this be a misdiagnosis? Should I be asking for a second opinion? The only reason I worry is because I have been feeling ill for the past year and a half (around the same time the new mole formed) and I also have an enlarged painless lymph node on my neck that formed around the same time and has not gone away. I also have been having deep intermittent right sided chest pain and have been fatigued for about a year and a half as well.
