Stubborn Seborrheic Dermatitis

Post a new topicby billyraybar on Wed Dec 17, 2008 12:33 pm

I have had perpetual seborrheic dermatitis for almost 3 yrs. Always flaky (after washing my face and drying, the white scales show themselves all over my face and it really looks aweful). It has never cleared. It started off on the corners of my mouth and has gradual spread to include my entire face - not just the normal eyebrows, nose folds, ears, forehead, ears, areas, etc. It is pretty much everywhere on my face. I have been to 4 different dermatologists and most prescribe ketoconazole cream which I have been putting on my face darn near every day for the entirety of this condition. Two of the four dermatoligists said I also have rosacea and the other two say just seborrheic dermatitis I was also on an oral antbiotic - minocycline for 2 years but it didnt seem to help. One dermatoligst tolde me to stop putting the cream on and stop taking the pills and try vitamin b12 supplements, fish oil, and stop eating fast food. I tried that and after 1 week without the cream the condition got so bad I couldn't take it -- swelling, inflamed red patches on my face, severe itching, rawness, etc. I've also tried a face wash containing some sort of sulfur (sulfamacide or something?) - also didnt work. I dont know what to do. The cream seems to be keeping the severe inflammation and itching in check but the flakiness and perpetual redness in cheek, nose, and sporatically on head has been ongoing and hasn't gone away for a single day in four years. I am otherwise physically healthy (certainly not a 'health nut') yet, mentally, I am not doing so well. Could it be a misdiagosis? Is there other treatments worth pursuing. My life has become painful. Ayone try Eidel??

Try ViaViente. My two daughters have been dealing with Eczema all their life. We have used all the steroids and creams on the market and don’t feel comfortable with the harm they is doing to their bodies. We have looked for years for a natural way to control their Eczema and have found it; ViaViente. We only put it on their skin when their Eczema flare up and within a couple days of using Via its under control. It also helps with the dry skin that is associated with it. Via really works and you will be amazed just like we were. Our daughters are 4 and 5 years of age. Shoot me an email if you want more into. [moderator note: contact information has been removed]

I was diagnosed with seborrheic dermatitis 5 years ago. Since then, I've tried everything and spent an enormous amount of money on different products. I experienced excessive flaking, itching, and hair loss. About a month ago, my symptoms worsened when I started experiencing flare ups around my nose. At first, I thought it was acne, but nothing I used worked. Then, I came across an article. The article stated most skin disorders and caused by mites living in our pores. I was horrified and a little skeptical, but it seemed to make sense. Please read about on the following web site:

After reading about this, I purchased a few products to see if this was the problem. I am seeing the best results I've ever seen. The brand is 'Dr. Qu' and they can be purchased through the following website:

I'm using the cleansing bar soap and hair wash. I heard that the moisture active cream is great too.
