perioral

Post a new topicby Guest on Sun Jun 17, 2001 10:25 pm

I was diagnosed with perioral dermatitis a few years ago (after visiting numerous dermatologists..)and have been quite successfully controlling it by taking Vibra Tabs when an outbreak occurs (about twice a year)- however,I am trying to get pregnant and have been advised not to take the medication as it can be harmful. What do you recommend as a substitute (either oral medication or topical)- I am currently experiencing the worst outbreak I have ever had and it's driving me crazy!!

I am not sure what Vibra Tabs are, perhaps you are from a country other that USA. It sounds like an antibiotic. One particular antibiotic is safe during pregnancy and can be helpful too--erythromycin. This comes in topical form too, but oral would be more potent for a severe outbreak.
