Nummular DermatitisThe pediatriician said my 4-yr old was misdiagnosed 3 years ago with folliculitis, and really probably has nummular dermatitis. She has rough, dry skin that looks like goose bumps all the time on her arms, legs, sideburn areas on her face, but nowhere else. She has never had any irritation or itchiness from these bumps. All the literature so far tells me that eczema and dermatitis are very uncomfortable and itchy. What could this really be, and will 1% cortizone make a difference?
Re: Nummular DermatitisI bet it is keratosis pilaris. have him take a look with this in mind. You can see a dermatologist too. Hydrocortisone won't help. Sometimes acne medicines, such as Retin A type creams can help, but I would wait until she is older.
