adverse reaction?

Post a new topicby Guest on Thu Jun 21, 2001 6:40 pm

I was diagnosed with seborheic dermatitis and psoriasis. Are they generally lumped together? When I put on aloe vera overnight and wash out the next day I get a a pricking feeling where I have the the natural whirl pattern My hair is thining there? Can this be an adverse affect from the Aloe Vera? I get the same feeling when I rinse with just water? When I towl dry my scalp feels sensitive and tight? There is a hot spot on top of my scalp. Should I just let it air dry? I just do not any more what to do. If using all these medicated shampoos (salic acid, 2% zinc, sulfer) making it worse and causing inflamition of the follicle and causing baldness? Maybe I have Eczema? Is there any natural remedies? Thank You so much for your help. What do you recomend about shaving the head? One dovtor says fine the other says if your hair is thining stay out of the sun. Agan Thank You Mik

Seborrhea and pasoriasis can sometimes be seen as a continuum, one leading to the other, but not always. They are sometimes luped together as "sebopsoriasis", but sometimes they appear as one or the other. I don't think the aloe or shampoos are doing any harm or causing hair loss. Shaving your head will probably help al litlle with the scaling. I do not think the sun has any impact on this, except that psoriasis usually improves with sunlight. Natural remedies would include supplementing with 50 mg zinc daily, as well as essential fatty acids, such as evening primrose oil and flaxseed oil, 2000 mg daily of each.
