Anaplastic Astrocytoma

Post a new topicby livingwith on Tue May 13, 2008 12:32 pm

I was diagnosed with an oligodendroglioma, grade 2, in 1996, when I was 27 years old. My doctor told me “to go home and live my life and there would be something available when I needed it because technology is changing everyday”. It was the best advice he could have given me. Dear Kristen,
Thank you for sharing your story it was very helpful and inspiring to me. My husband was diagnosed with an Anaplastic Oligodendroglioma Grade 3 in May of 2007. This came as quite a shock as you can imagine. My husband has done very well with his treatments. He had a re-section in May of 2007 followed by 6 weeks of radiation and will be doing a one year treatment plan on Temodar which will end on July 4, 2008. He has been working full time since October 2007 . He did have a seziure which has kept him from driving since January but he has not had a problem with that since they increased the Keppra that he takes for this. I am very pleased to hear you are a 12 year survivor it is very good to hear that there is hope and a person can live their life with a brain tumor.
