pimples

Post a new topicby Guest on Thu Jul 05, 2001 8:28 pm

My 14 year old daughter has had pimples for about 2 years. They are small and red and alot on her cheeks and forehead. She has tried many products starting with Mary Kay, then going to the dermatologist then trying store bought products. Now she is using Pro Activ. Her skin was much clearer the first couple of weeks, but now it is just as bad as it was in the beginning. Lately she has been in the sun and swimming in the pool often. I don't know if that has anything to do with it. She is so self conscience about it and I don't know what else to do. Any suggestions?

I recommend that you speak with the dermatologist and get a prescription for some medication. It sounds like you have only used over the counter products. there are many options, depending on the skin type and the type of acne. Your dermatologist will be able to help. Usually kids improve during the summer months. Sometimes when you starts a new product (e.g. Pro Activ), it can get temporarily worse.
