In 1997 (February to June) I was on Accutane. I am now starting in on my second course. At that time, I had good results with it and had ony minor side effects (dryness, minor joint aches). Will the benefits be boosted in this second round? Will the negative side effects also be heightened? What are the long- term effects of a second round of Accutane?

You should not experience worse side effects necessarily. I would expect you to tolerate it well. Sometimes a stronger dose is needed for the second round. See how it goes. It appears that the long term side effects of two courses are not a problem.
