Post a new topicby Guest on Sun Jun 03, 2001 12:12 pm

As a teenager I never had acne I now have "severe" cystic acne years. I am 30 years old it is not getting better. I have tried diet, creams, medications, antibiotics, herbal, homeopathic injections into site. I have very oily skin use products oily skin. Is re anything new or something I haven't mentioned?? I also tried newest birth control it didn't help. I'm desparate because no one seems to be able to help me. Thanks.

Have you tried that natures cure product?I took it a few months ago, and it really seemed to help---- for a while. But Eventually my acne started creeping back .It sure was nice to have a clear face for a month or two.

I recommend Accutane. It is a strong oral medication that, at this time, is the only medication we know of that can cure your acne problem. It is potent and blood work needs to be checked while you are on the medication. You MUST avoid getting pregnant until at least one month after stopping the medication. I have used it in many patients with excellent results. Please get the advice of your dermatologist.

THe hormones can definitely influence acne. Perhaps you should go off the synthetic hormones and consult with a holistic doctor about natural hormone replacement. In the meantime, you need to actually treat the acne. OVer the counter, try a salacylic acid wash and a benzoyl peroxide lotion. It sounds like you will need to see a dermatologist though, as your acne sounds more severe. Good luck.
